If you've been looking for a Blue Ridge Mountain getaway with your partner, family, friend, or solo, Valley Bear Farms is it. Located 1.5 hours from Asheville and 3 hours from Atlanta, this luxury glamping resort makes for a fun weekend to explore and recharge for any type of guest.

Hidden in the middle of the Appalachian mountains, you'll find a variety of accommodations to make for a fun stay. Choose from an A-frame cabin, bungalow, or retreat home for some luxurious camping. If you'd rather take on your stay in "true camping fashion", pick from a creek-side yurt, mirror cabin, or cozy couple cabin where restrooms are only a walk away.

A Cozy A-Frame Cabin Surrounded by Silence

I was raised in the mountains but currently live in a major city. To get away from the hustle and bustle, my friend and I stayed in the A-frame cabin and took the weekend to just enjoy ourselves. The studio-sized cabin was the perfect size for two. I took the king bed, and she took the pull out couch. We were welcomed with cute towel animals on the bed and a basket of freshly picked vegetables. The sun shined through the windows brilliantly lighting the place. I loved the bathroom which consisted of the coziest bath tub (bath tray included). A stand alone shower stood in the corner with built-in shelves and built-in shampoo, conditioner, and body wash! Although this cabin is close to two others, they face away from each other. There is a black curtain that can cover the triangular window for added privacy as well and it helps block out any morning day light. This cabin was the definition of camping in luxury.

A One-Stop Shop for Adventure in Western NC

Located in Balsam Grove, this place is a perfect spot for families or individuals who like some adventure. As soon as I woke up I would start my day with a cup of coffee provided to me. Listening to nothing but birds, seeing dewy grass, and feeling the crisp chill air was the fresh reset I needed. After coffee I would walk to the wood-burning sauna and enjoy 15-ish minutes of humidity. Personally, I've never breathed better in my entire life. The humidity from the rocks really open up your sinuses.

Other guests would end their sauna session by jumping into the pond, but I decided canoeing would be more my speed. Hearing the trickling of water from the tiny waterfall it connects to was soothing. I also hiked around the forest trails to find the hidden waterfall, walked through the community garden and picked fresh vegetables, played board games, and enjoyed a campfire making smores. It made for a very relaxing stay away from the city.
